Mission Statement:
L’appartement 49c began as a passion project—an intimate, single-day exhibition in my home that has since evolved into an ongoing exploration of migration, identity, and the meaning of home. Inspired by the French salons, this artist-run space challenges the boundaries between home and gallery, inviting visitors to engage in meaningful conversations and connect with both the art and each other.L’appartement 49c is run by OATS collective. A team of four artists involved in both creative and curatorial practices. Our mission is to foster dialogue between the artwork, the space, and the audience. By situating art in a domestic setting, we invite reflection on the relationship between everyday life and creativity. This relaxed environment encourages open conversation, where strangers can meet and chat, fostering lasting bonds through shared experiences.
