l’appartement 49c

Second Iteration’s Curatorial Concept:

Unfolding Roots is an exploration of how migration reshapes our understanding of home–a concept that exists as both a physical place and an emotional state. Bringing together artists whose work delves into themes of dislocation, cultural identity, and a fluid definition of  home. The exhibition encourages visitors to consider home as an emotional, cultural, and spiritual construct that migrates with us–redefined by our physical and emotional journeys to what we individually call home.

The works reflect on the spaces in between familiarity of the past and the unknown of the future, the liminal zones. This transitional state allows us to expand cultural identity and belonging, when home is no longer a static concept but a fluid, ever-changing experience. Artists explore how objects, rituals, and memories are redefined in new places, forming a bridge between tradition and perpetual change.
